How Our Extensions Work
Local Storage Only
All our extensions store data locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage API. This data never leaves your computer unless you explicitly export it.
Extension-Specific Data Storage
VocabBuilder
What is stored locally:
Saved vocabulary words
Word definitions (cached from public dictionary API)
Quiz scores and progress
Language preferences (source and target languages)
External APIs used:
Free Dictionary API (https://dictionaryapi.dev) - Public, no authentication
Google Translate API (public endpoint) - For translations only
No personal data is sent to these APIs. Only the words you look up are sent for definition/translation purposes.
Advanced Tab Manager
What is stored locally:
Tab IDs (temporary, cleared when tabs close)
Tab URLs (for display purposes only)
Tab titles (for display purposes only)
Timestamps (when tabs were opened/accessed)
No data is transmitted externally. All tab information stays on your device.
Reading Time Estimator
What is stored locally:
- Reading speed preference (words per minute)
No browsing data is collected. The extension only counts words on the current page to calculate reading time.
Universal Dark Mode
What is stored locally:
Dark mode enabled/disabled state
Selected theme preference
Intensity level preference
Per-site settings (which sites have dark mode enabled)
No browsing data is collected. The extension only applies CSS filters to web pages.
Advanced History Manager & Analytics
What is stored locally:
Analytics cache (processed history statistics)
Last update timestamp
Chrome history access:
This extension accesses your Chrome browsing history to generate analytics and visualizations. However:
All processing happens locally on your device
No history data is transmitted externally
You can delete history at any time
Data is only read, never modified (except when you explicitly delete history)
